On November 27, 2023, a Round table dedicated to the 10th anniversary of signing of the Treaty between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation on Good Neighborliness and Alliance in the XXI Century was held in Moscow.
The event, organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation, was attended by Kazakh and Russian officials, representatives of expert community.
In his speech, Chairman of the FPRI Board Bolat Nurgaliyev drew attention to the fact that the 2013 Agreement was preceded by the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance of 1992 and the Declaration of Eternal Friendship and Alliance Oriented to the XXI Century of 1998. "Comparing these three documents, you can see how, as you gain experience, formulations crystallized, defining points were clarified, content was concretized, some accents were rearranged. This reflects natural process of adapting legal framework of cooperation and coordinated understanding of common interests of the two countries and their people" (the text of the speech is attached).
Summing up the results of the Round table, the participants noted that over past decade since signing of the Treaty, the Kazakh-Russian relations continue to strengthen dynamically in all spheres. In their opinion, there are significant resources for further creative development of potential of cooperation.
