Bolat Nurgaliyev

Member of the Board

Ambassador Bolat Nurgaliyev was born in 1951 in the Akmola region of Kazakhstan. In 1980 he was hired by the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He was posted at the Soviet Embassies in Pakistan (1981–1985) and India (1990–1992). In 1992, he joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, held the posts of Head of the Department of International Security and Arms Control, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
He was Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the United States of America (1996-2000), concurrently in Canada and Mexico; to the Republic of Korea (2001-2003); Japan (2004-2006); the State of Israel (2012-20014) with concurrence to the Republic of Cyprus.
From 2007 to 2009, he was Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. In 2010, during the chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, he was Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office on protracted conflicts.
From 2015 to 2018, he worked as an adviser to the Chairman of the Board of JSC "National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy". Since December 2019 - Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Institute for Foreign Policy Studies.
Diplomatic rank: Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary

Manarbek Kabaziyev

Deputy Chairman of the Board

Manarbek Kabaziyev was born on 1 of January, 1974 in Atyrau region.
In 1998, he graduated with honors from the Kazakh State Law University (lawyer-jurist, specialization in international law).
In 2009, he graduated from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (specialist in international relations).
He graduated from the courses of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey (Ankara,1998), Diplomatic courses at the OSCE Academy (Vienna,2000), the training program of the Institute of Diplomacy Academy of Public Administration of the President of Kazakhstan (Astana,2012), language courses at the Confucius Institute (Beijing,2018).
Since 1998 he works in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
1998-1999-Assistant of the Department of International Security and Arms Control of the First Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
1999-2002-Attache, Third Secretary of the Department of Multilateral Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
2002-2005-Attache, Third Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
2006-2009-Adviser to the Trade Mission of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Russian Federation.
2009-2011-Head of the Department of Cooperation with Russia of the CIS Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
