Round table «Multilateral Institutions in the Political and Economic Processes of Greater Eurasia: a view from Russia and Kazakhstan»

On March 19, 2024, in Moscow, Chairman of the FPRI Board Bolat Nurgaliyev and FPRI senior staff members Amir Bashbayev and Valery Sitenko took part in the round table «Multilateral Institutions in the Political and Economic Processes of Greater Eurasia: a view from Russia and Kazakhstan» organized jointly with  the Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC). 

The Kazakh experts together with the RIAC Director General Ivan Timofeev, Program Manager of the Council Yulia Melnikova, senior staff member of the Moscow State Institute of International Studies the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Irina Bolgova and Ivan Safranchuk, Chief Expert of the Department of International Cooperation of the Directorate of International Transport Corridors Natalia Zadonskaya, Deputy Director of the Centre for Comprehensive European and International Studies of the Higher School of Economics Alexander Korolev, representatives of the Russian Foreign Trade Academy Konstantin Kuzmichev and Andrey Tochin, the Center for Post-Soviet Studies of the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences Stanislav Pritchin, discussed a numbers of issues related to interaction of Kazakhstan and Russia within the framework of the EAEU, SCO, CSTO, CICA, as well as correlation of the EAEU with the Chinese strategic initiative "One Belt, One Road".

B.Nurgaliyev, A.Bashbayev and V.Sitenko, as well as Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Moscow Yerlan Shamishev and Сounsellor Almaz Nurbekov focused attention of the Russian participants of the round table on Kazakhstan’s priorities during current chairmanship of our country in a number of integration associations in Eurasian space.

An agreement was reached to continue the practice of joint expert discussions with the RIAC on issues of mutual interest.
