On November 9, 2024, the FPRI Senior expert Sergey Saveliev and Director of External Communications Meruert Ermekova took part in a working lunch organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Thailand in Astana. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Kazakhstan Institute for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nazarbayev University and L.N.Gumilev Eurasian National University.
Charge D'affaires of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Republic of Kazakhstan Ortai Phubunlap Gunasilan and Senior expert of the Center for International Studies (CIS) of Thailand Seksan Anantasirikiat briefed on Thailand's international activities for sustainable development, topical issues of transportation, logistics and interconnectivity in which the Thai diplomacy is engaged, assessed the state and prospects of Thailand's diverse cooperation with Kazakhstan and the Central Asian region.
For their part, the FPRI staff-members spoke about the practical activities of the Institute and measures to expand partnerships with relevant analytical centers of foreign countries. An agreement was reached on the consideration by the representatives of Thailand of a draft Memorandum of Cooperation between the FPRI and the CIS on issues of mutual interest.
