On April 24, 2025, an online meeting was held between the leadership of the Foreign Policy Research Institute under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Institute of Regional Studies under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two analytical structures.
From the Kazakh side, the Memorandum was signed by the Chairman of the Board of the FPRI Bolat Nurgaliyev. From the Pakistani side – by the President of the Institute of Regional Studies Jauhar Saleem.
This Memorandum is aimed at promoting further cooperation, mutual exchange of information, development of projects and research programs, including conducting joint events.
The event was attended by the Head of the Central Asia Program for Regional Connectivity at the IRS Hamza Rifat and other representatives of the Pakistani institute, as well as by the FPRI expert Gulden Kaskarbayeva.
During the meeting, the global and regional situation, as well as prospects for developing cooperation between the two institutes, were discussed.
