On August 5, 2025 Chairman of the FPRI Board Bolat Nurgaliyev met Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhtiyor Ibragimov by his request.
There was a discussion on the current status and future prospects of Kazakh-Uzbek cooperation in bilateral format and within the framework of international organizations in which both countries are the members. In connection with ongoing in Avaza (Turkmenistan) the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries with the participation of Presidents K.Tokayev, Sh.Mirziyoyev and the UN Secretary-General A.Guterres, the commonality of the problems of rational water use, joint response to current challenges, including global warming, desertification and drought was noted.
The positive dynamics in the implementation of joint social and economic projects in the fields of transport infrastructure, industrial and agricultural production, as well as the key role of the leaders of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in promoting regional security, sustainable development and integration were highlighted.
Bolat Nurgaliyev spoke about practical activities of the Foreign Policy Research Institute, in particular about its involvement in comprehensive studies of regional cooperation in Central Asia.
An agreement was reached to maintain regular contacts between the FPRI and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Astana.
