On October 15, 2025 Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Policy Research Institute Bolat Nurgaliyev held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, President of the Institute for Political and International Studies (IPIS) of the MFA of the Islamic Republic of Iran Saeed Khatibzadeh on the sidelines of the Astana Think Tank Forum. A detailed conversation took place on the status and prospects of the Kazakh-Iranian political, trade, economic and humanitarian cooperation, as well as on issues of regional and international security. The interlocutors stressed positive dynamics of the partnership between the two countries and their mutual commitment to further deepen their diverse cooperation.
The heads of the Kazakh and Iranian analytical centers outlined specific plans for joint work based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2022 between FPRI and IPIS.
