On April 20, 2026 The FPRI expert Nurzhan Omirbek participated online in the II Forum of Analytical Centers of the Persian Gulf and Central Asian States on the topic: «Strengthening cooperation between the countries of the Persian Gulf and Central Asia in the context of a Transforming Regional Order». The event was organized by the Persian Gulf Research Center (GRC) in partnership with the Institute for Strategic and Regional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan (ISRS). The Forum was attended by representatives of Analytical сenters, the expert community and relevant institutions of the countries of both regions.
During discussions, key areas of cooperation between the GCC and Central Asia were discussed, including expansion of trade and economic ties, development of investment cooperation, as well as strengthening contacts between Analytical сenters. Special attention is paid to energy and maritime security issues, including importance of the Strait of Hormuz for global energy markets, as well as impact of regional instability on sustainability of supply chains.
