International Seminar «Responding to New Terrorism Challenges: Strengthening State Responsibility and Consolidating International Efforts»

On August 3-5, 2026 the FPRI expert Yerzhan Kalekenov participated in the International Seminar on «Responding to New Terrorism Challenges: Strengthening State Responsibility and Consolidating International Efforts» at the invitation of the Institute of Borderland Studies of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The event was organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of the People’s Government of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and the World Muslim Communities Council (UAE), with  support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.
The seminar brought together representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Chinese analytical and research centers, and universities, alongside more than 100 delegates from 21 countries and regional organizations, including the SCO and the African Union.
Ye.Kalekenov delivered a presentation at the panel session titled «Regional Challenges and Counter-Terrorism Measures in the Context of Geopolitical Conflicts», during which he focused on the counter-terrorism efforts undertaken by Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries.
