On September 15, 2026 the «Euronews» News Agency published an article in english dedicated to prospects of concluding a free trade agreement between the EAEU and India. The article features comments by Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Policy Research Institute Manarbek Kabaziyev.
The comments emphasize importance of the agreement for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the EAEU countries and India, reducing trade barriers, and creating additional opportunities for growth of trade, investment, and cooperation.
Special attention is paid to transport and logistics dimension of the initiative. According to expert, growth in trade will contribute to an increase in cargo flows and generate additional demand for development of reliable land and multimodal routes, including the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), which connects Central Asia with Europe. Development of these routes may also have indirect significance for European markets by helping to improve infrastructure, reduce logistics costs, and increase the capacity of transport corridors.
