TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF COOPERATION BETWEEN THE FOREIGN POLICY RESEARCH INSTITUTE UNDER THE MFA OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN AND THE INSTITUTE OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS UNDER THE MFA OF ETHIOPIA

On March 15, 2023, an online meeting was held between the leadership of the Foreign Policy Research Institute under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Institute of Foreign Affairs under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia. A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two analytical structures.

From the Kazakh side, the Memorandum was signed by the Chairman of the Board of FPRI Bolat Nurgaliyev. From the Ethiopian side – by the Executive Director of the Institute of Foreign Affairs Desalegn Ambaw. This Memorandum is aimed at promoting further cooperation, mutual exchange of information, development of projects and research programs, including conducting joint events.

The event was attended by the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ethiopia, the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the African Union Barlybay Sadykov, employees of the Ethiopian Institute Melaku Mulualem and Dareskedar Taye, expert of the FPRI Gulden Kaskarbayeva. The parties discussed global and regional situation, foreign policy and economic challenges facing Astana and Addis Ababa, and exchanged views on prospects for cooperation between Kazakhstan and Ethiopia in various fields.
