On November 30 – December 8, 2023 Director of External Communications Meruert Ermekova took part in the "China in Sight, Global Insight" International Forum dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road initiative and the 45th anniversary of Reforms and Openness.
The Forum under the theme: “Chinese Modernization and High-Quality Belt and Road Cooperation” was held under the auspices of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee in cooperation with the China Center for Contemporary World Studies (CCWS), Council of Silk Road Think Tank Association (SRTA) and the Municipal Committee of the CPC of Shenzhen.
The expert discussion focused on issues of strengthening stability and security in the area of the Belt and Road Project and prospects for cooperation between China and foreign countries within the framework of the Chinese initiative, issues of economic development, transport and energy, ecology and digital technologies of the countries involved in this project.
During the trip to China, a group of international experts conducted study tours in Shenzhen, Xiamen and Beijing, organized by the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government and the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government.
The FPRI representative spoke at the 1st Panel session on the topic: "Chinese Modernization and "Belt and Road" Cooperation" with an Address of Chairman of the FPRI Board Bolat Nurgaliyev to the participants of the Forum, which highlighted the current results and further prospects for the implementation of the Chinese initiative in Kazakhstan and Central Asia region as a whole, its socio-economic importance for the development of the region.
During the official opening of the event on December 1, 2023 in Shenzhen, a ceremony of signing a Memorandum of Understanding between the FPRI and the Silk Road Think Tanks Association (SRTA) took place.
