On April 30, 2024, Chairman of the FPRI Board Bolat Nurgaliyev met with Bates Gill, Executive Director of the Center for China Analysis of Asia Society, Carla Freeman, Senior Expert for China at the Asia Center of the American Institute of Peace, and Alison McFarland, a specialist in research programs at this Institute.
American experts were interested in assessing the specifics of China's policy in Central Asia, Kazakhstan's involvement in joint projects within the framework of the strategic Chinese initiative «One Belt, One Road», the status and prospects of political, economic and humanitarian cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, existing platforms for dialogue between Central Asian countries with various states (C5+).
During the meeting, the Kazakh vision of Chinese global initiatives in the field of development, security and civilization was also discussed.
