On July 3, 2024, Chairman of the FPRI Board Bolat Nurgaliyev spoke at a round table at the Astana Congress Center dedicated to the role of China in the activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization with a special focus on the participation of mass media in promoting the SCO’s cultural and humanitarian dimension. 
The event, organized by the Media Corporation of China, was attended by Deputy Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Head of China Media Group Shen Haixiong, Managing Director of the “Jibek Joly” TV channel Yerkezhan Kuntugan, Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Iskakov, Senator of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Andrey Denisov, former SCO Secretary General Vladimir Norov (Uzbekistan) and other representatives of the SCO member states.

On the sidelines of the event, the Chairman of the Board gave interviews to several Chinese media on the topics issues of the state visit to Kazakhstan by Chinese President Xi Jinping and the 24th SCO summit in Astana.
