On March 5, 2026, the newspaper «Kazakhstanskaya Pravda» published an article by Deputy Chairman of the FPRI Board Amanzheldy Tazhenov entitled «A Global Dialogue Is Needed». The article notes the intensification of environmental and climate challenges in Central Asia, primarily related to the reduction of water resources, glacier melting, rising temperatures, and the increasing frequency of extreme natural events. Particular attention is given to the significance of the upcoming Regional Environmental Summit in Astana, where measures of international and regional cooperation are expected to be agreed upon to advance the environmental agenda in Central Asia.
