The collection of materials of the International Scientific and Practical Conference «Development of the Foreign Policy of Independent Kazakhstan: Historical Experience and Modernity» published an article by Deputy Chairman of the FPRI Board, Professor of the Institute of Diplomacy of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Manarbek Kabaziyev. «The Diplomatic Service of Independent Kazakhstan and the Legacy of Tuleutai Suleimenov». The publication was issued by the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University and is dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the first Minister of Foreign Affairs of independent Kazakhstan Tuleutai Suleimenov.
The article examines formation of the national diplomatic service, formation of its institutional framework and contribution of the first generation of diplomats to strengthening international subjectivity of Kazakhstan. Special attention is paid to the role of Tuleutai Suleimenov in development of the foreign ministry, the country's representation abroad and training of diplomatic personnel.
The author reveals importance of historical experience for modern multi-vector politics, regional cooperation and promotion of national interests. It is emphasized that continuity of the Kazakh diplomatic school and interaction of diplomatic, expert and academic communities remain important conditions for an effective foreign policy.
