On 22 September 2026, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Policy Research Institute and Professor at the Institute of Diplomacy of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Manarbek Kabaziyev participated in a meeting of the Academy’s Dissertation Council as an official reviewer.
The meeting featured the defense of a doctoral dissertation by Asem Raimbekova entitled «International Cooperation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Countering Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing», submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) under the educational programme 8D03115 – International Relations.
In his remarks, M.Kabaziyev highlighted the relevance of the research in the context of contemporary challenges to international and financial security, emphasizing the growing importance of international cooperation in addressing transnational financial threats. Particular attention was paid to the scientific novelty of the study, the institutional effectiveness of international cooperation, preventive financial security mechanisms and prospects for developing regional cooperation.
The participation of FPRI representatives in the work of dissertation councils and in the expert assessment of academic research contributes to strengthening cooperation between academic science and foreign policy expertise, as well as to the training of a new generation of specialists in international relations and security.
