On November 27, 2019 Nur-Sultan hosted the International Parliamentary Conference "Institute of the Presidency: the Kazakhstan Model”, organized by the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan dedicated to the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Opening the conference, the Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Nigmatulin, recalled that in April 2020 Kazakhstan will note 30th Anniversary of the official introduction of the institution of the Presidency in Kazakhstan. In Kazakhstan, the choice of a presidential form of government was one of the first steps on the difficult path of independence. In these conditions, an urgent need was the speedy implementation of cardinal political and economic transformations, with the mandatory preservation and strengthening of the constitutional system, rights, freedoms and security of citizens. For 30 years, under the leadership of the First President - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, plenipotentiary reforms have been carried out in all areas, which resulted in sustainable economic growth, a fair social policy, and the democratization of the life of our society.
The conference was attended by deputies of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, parliamentarians from Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Serbia, Tatarstan, Turkey, representatives of UNDP, OSCE, TurkPA, CICA, as well as the international expert community from the USA, Sweden and other countries.
The conference was held in the framework of two panel sessions: "Elbasy and the development of the parliamentarism in Kazakhstan" and "Ak-Orda: a multi-vector course."
Chairman of the Board Mr. Aiymdos Bozzhigitov made a presentation on behalf of the Foreign Policy Research Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the panel session "Ak-Orda: a multi-vector course".
