Participation in the consultation meeting “Women. Peace. Security."

On September 23, 2021, Madina Jarbussynova Head of the FPRI department of international organizations and integration associations, participated in the Central Asian regional consultation meeting organized by the UN Women in cooperation with the Foreign Policy Research Institute under the MFA of RK on the topic "Women. World. Security.». The discussion was organized within the framework of the regional virtual platform of the community of practices on gender equality and the advancement of women, creation of which was initiated by Kazakhstan.

In her statement, M. Jarbussynova noted that UN Security Council Resolution 1325, with its focus on ensuring and protecting women's rights, their active involvement in the processes of conflict prevention and resolution, participation in political and economic life at the decision-making level, remains relevant today. She also informed the participants about practical steps undertaken in Kazakhstan to implement resolution 1325.

 During the dialogue, representatives of civil society expressed their interest in continuing regional cooperation on this topic on an ongoing basis with the involvement of national mechanisms on gender equality.
