Analysis of the goals and specific differences of the existing nuclear-free zones was presented. Particular attention was paid to the issues of provision of negative security assurances to the NWFZ states parties by the nuclear powers, as well as prospects for cooperation between nuclear weapon free zones.
The participants of the Conference were informed about the measures taken within the framework of the Treaty on Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone in Central Asia (Semipalatinsk Treaty) to strengthen international security and the nuclear non-proliferation regime.
