On May 27, 2024, Chairman of the FPRI Board Bolat Nurgaliyev and Deputy Chairman Amangeldy Tazhenov received a delegation headed by Dr. Jin Xin, Director General of the Research Office of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Secretary General of the China Council for BRICS Think Tanks Cooperation.
The Kazakh and Chinese researchers exchanged views on a wide range of issues, including the situation in Central Asia and the near abroad, Kazakhstan – China interaction within the framework of the UNO, SCO and CICA. Issues of bilateral cooperation and Kazakhstan’s role within the process of implementation of the Chinese Belt and Road strategic initiative were discussed as well. The interlocutors pointed out to communality of assessments of current state and prospects for development of international and regional situation, upgrading the role of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in promoting regional security, stability and prosperity.
It was agreed to continue working contacts of the FPRI with the Chinese research centers.
