On June 5, 2025, «Kazakhstanskaya Pravda» newspaper published an article by Deputy Chairman of the FPRI Board Amangeldy Tazhenov entitled: «Goals and consequences of the sanctions standoff».
The article notes a tendency to increase a frequency of the application of sanctions by leading powers as a way of forcing changes in internal and external behavior of their counterparts. At the same time, the apparent shift from separate restrictive measures to long-term large-scale restrictions has a negative impact on business relations between countries and global economy as a whole, since sanctions have concomitant negative effects for non-sanctioned countries.
