On February 9, 2026 The FPRI senior expert Valery Sitenko participated in a round table on the draft constitutional reform in Kazakhstan, organized by the International Association of lawyers. The event was attended by parliamentarians, scientists, and experts in the field of international relations. During discussions, it was noted that the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan should reflect the most important foundations of the country's foreign policy, such as respect for international law and the principles of the United Nations, non-interference in the internal affairs of other states, and peaceful resolution of disputes. Participants supported the draft of a new Basic Law that meets modern requirements, needs of society, international standards, and goals of our country's strategic development. Following results of the round table, a corresponding statement was prepared.
As part of the event V.Sitenko gave an interview to the «24 KZ» and «Jibek Joly» Kazakh News Channels focusing on the reaction of international community to the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which indicates that constitutional reform enjoys support of foreign partners.
