PARTICIPATION IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE «CENTRAL ASIA: A NEW PARADIGM OF REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT»

On May 14, 2026 Deputy Chairman of the FPRI Board Manarbek Kabaziyev participated online in the International Conference «Central Asia: a New Paradigm of Regional Development», organized by the Diplomatic Academy at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy of Uzbekistan.
The conference included thematic sessions on topical issues of regional cooperation. The participants discussed dynamics of cooperation in Central Asia and the formation of regional subjectivity in international relations, issues of regional security and collective responses to global challenges, prospects for economic integration and transport connectivity as factors of sustainable growth, as well as development of humanitarian cooperation, scientific and educational exchanges, and the formation of a common Central Asian identity.
Speaking at the first session on the topic «Dynamics of cooperation in Central Asia and the formation of regional subjectivity in international relations», M.Kabaziyev noted that Central Asia is gradually emerging as an independent subject of international relations, with its own regional agenda and growing political subjectivity. It was emphasized that Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia play an important role in strengthening intraregional cooperation, contributing to development of an atmosphere of trust, pragmatism and mutual consideration of interests.
During the speech, attention was also focused on need to further develop cooperation between diplomatic academies and expert and analytical centers of Central Asian countries, including implementation of joint research and educational initiatives.
Following the conference, the participants confirmed importance of continuing constructive regional dialogue, strengthening coordination mechanisms and promoting Central Asia as a responsible and influential actor in international relations.
