On May 27, 2026 the International News Agency «Kazinform» published an analytical article «Astana-Moscow: the Economic Dimension and the Eurasian context of cooperation», dedicated to the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as prospects for development of the Kazakh-Russian relations.
The publication features expert comments by Deputy Chairman of the FPRI Board Manarbek Kabaziyev on the transformation of bilateral cooperation, Eurasian integration, transport and logistics connectivity and industrial cooperation.
The expert noted that Kazakhstan and Russia have reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, while current stage of interaction is characterized by a transition from a traditional trading model to a more comprehensive system of cooperation, including infrastructural, technological, digital, and humanitarian areas.
The article emphasizes that the key drivers of bilateral cooperation are industrial cooperation, development of transport corridors, energy cooperation, digitalization and strengthening of logistics infrastructure of Eurasia. Special attention is paid to the role of the EAEU, issues of water security, Kazakhstan's transit potential and development of humanitarian projects.
