DEPUTY CHAIRMAN OF THE FPRI BOARD MANARBEK KABAZIYEV DELIVERED A LECTURE AT THE III JEAN MONNET «EUROSOFT» INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL

On June 18, 2026 Deputy Chairman of the FPRI Board Manarbek Kabaziyev delivered an online lecture on «The Soft Power Component of the Foreign Policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan» within the framework of the III International Summer School «Global and Regional Dimensions of the Soft Power of the European Union», organized by the Jean Monnet Center of Excellence «EUROSOFT» project team at the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University with the support of the European Commission within the framework of the Erasmus+ program.
During the lecture, modern approaches to understanding concept of «soft power» and specifics of its application in the context of transformation of the world order were considered. Special attention was paid to evolution of Kazakhstan's soft power model based on principles of multi-vector approach, international responsibility, mediation and promotion of inter-civilizational dialogue.
It was noted that the most important resources of Kazakhstan's international attractiveness are consistent foreign policy, initiatives in the field of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation, confidence- and security-building activities, as well as development of educational, humanitarian, and economic diplomacy.
A special emphasis was placed on growing role of Kazakhstan as a middle power, capable of acting as a link between Europe and Asia, as well as contributing to development of interconnectedness and sustainable cooperation in the Greater Eurasian space.
The event was attended by representatives of academic and expert community, university professors, undergraduates, doctoral students and young researchers from Central Asia and Europe.
Participation in such international educational and expert initiatives contributes to development of scientific and academic cooperation, strengthening international dialogue and promoting Kazakhstan's expert potential in international arena.
