On July 18, 2026 the website of the International News Agency «Kazinform» published an analytical material entitled «Shanghai Agenda: Kazakhstan in the Architecture of Global AI», dedicated to the results of working visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to China and his participation in the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC 2026).
The publication presents expert comments by Deputy Chairman of the FPRI Board Manarbek Kabaziyev, which analyze political and practical significance of the President's talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping, meetings with heads of leading Chinese high-tech companies, as well as speeches by the President of Kazakhstan at the opening ceremony of WAIC 2026.
According to the expert, the visit confirmed the transition of the Kazakh-Chinese strategic partnership to a qualitatively new stage, in which, along with traditional areas of interaction, artificial intelligence, digital economy, innovation and high technology are becoming increasingly important.
The commentary pays special attention to promising areas of bilateral cooperation, including development of digital infrastructure, industrial cooperation, transport and logistics connectivity, education, and scientific and technological partnership.
