SCO+ INTERNATIONAL INTERPARTY FORUM ON " ECONOMY FOR PEOPLE"

Head of the Department of "International Organizations and Integration Associations" of FPRI  JSC M. Jarbussynova took part in the international interparty Forum SCO+ on the topic "Economy for people", organized by the CEC of the United Russia  party and held via videoconference on October 22-23 this year. Representatives of the SCO and BRICS member countries, as well as SCO dialogue partners participated of the Forum. The discussions at the six platforms were preceded by a greeting from the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, and an opening speech of the Chairman of the United Russia party, Dmitry Medvedev.

Speaking at a platform that discussed the issue of "Partnership for global stability, common security and countering interference in the sovereign affairs of Independent States", M. Jarbussynova stressed Kazakhstan's commitment to the fundamental principles of sovereign equality of States and non-interference in their internal Affairs, laid down in the UN Charter. She noted that, having chosen a peaceful foreign policy, our country from the first days of Independence actively had been advocating the creation of effective mechanisms for broad partnership in the interests of global security. A striking example of this is the initiative of the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasy N. Nazarbayev to create a security model in Asia similar to the OSCE-CICA. She informed the participants that today the CICA is an authoritative multilateral structure that is in the process of transformation into a full-fledged regional organization uniting 35 States of the Asian region, the SCO member States, including in search of a path to a stable world without confrontation.

Focusing on Kazakhstan's activities within the SCO, she noted that it is pursuing a policy of equal dialogue, mutual trust, good-neighborliness and partnership in order to ensure comprehensive security in the region.

She also stressed that the principle of equal partnership and trust in the interests of security formed the basis of the Astana Declaration of the OSCE Summit and finds practical implementation in the framework of Kazakhstan's efforts to ensure and maintain peace in the Eurasian space – for example, the assistance program for Afghanistan and the inter-Syrian negotiations.

She assured the Forum participants that Kazakhstan will continue to pursue a constructive and proactive foreign policy aimed at preventing and stabilizing crisis situations through collective efforts without interfering in the internal Affairs of partner States.
