On March 31, 2023, the Chairman of the FPRI Board  Bolat Nurgaliyev met with representatives of the leadership of the Caspian Policy Center (CPC), based in Washington DC. Among them: the CPC Security and Politics Program Chair, former US Ambassador to Central Asian states, including Kazakhstan, Richard Hoagland, Board Member, professor of European and Eurasian Studies Program at Johns Hopkins University Marsha McGraw Olive and Board Member Richard Spooner. The meeting was also attended by expert of the Institute Gulden Kaskarbayeva.

There was an exchange of data on main areas of activity of both research institutions. The participants of the meeting shared their assessments of current problems of the international situation, challenges and risks in the field of global and regional security. Potential areas of cooperation and forms of carrying out specific activities by the FPRI with the CPC were also discussed.
