On June 1, 2023, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Policy Research Institute Amangeldy Tazhenov and experts of the Analysis and Forecasting Group held a working meeting with representatives of the Institute of Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences - senior researcher Gao Hanxun and leading researcher Li Juisi.

There was an exchange of information on main areas of activity of research organizations represented by them, discussion of topical issues of relations between Kazakhstan and China, cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international organizations such as the SCO and CICA, as well as the situation in Afghanistan in the context of its impact on the state of regional security. An agreement was reached to continue such working meetings for mutually beneficial discussion of issues of interest to the Kazakh and the Chinese experts.
