On December 19, 2023, Chairman of the FPRI Board Bolat Nurgaliyev spoke at the opening ceremony of the International Conference «Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards Asia and Neighboring Countries» in Tehran.

The Сonference with participation of senior Iranian officials was held at the University of Tehran and jointly organized by the Institute of Strategic Studies, the Institute of Political and International Studies under the Iranian Foreign Ministry, and the Supreme National Defense University of Iran. In the speech of Kazakhstan representative, the strategic line of our country for development of diverse cooperation with neighboring states, including Iran, in the political, economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as Astana's focus on deepening partnership within multilateral and regional organizations, in particular the UN, SCO, CICA, ECO and OIC, was emphasized.

Bolat Nurgaliyev dwelt on priorities of Kazakhstan's chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, congratulated the Iranian participants of the International Conference on Iran's acquisition of the status of a full member of the SCO and expressed hope for constructive cooperation between Astana and Tehran in strengthening regional integration in various fields.

The mutual participation of the Kazakhstan Foreign Policy Research Institute and the Iranian Institute of Political and International Studies under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran is provided by the Memorandum of Understanding signed on June 19, 2022.
