During the period from May till November 2024, FPRI expert Gulden Kaskarbayeva participated in the annual UN Fellowship Program organized by the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs.
The Program is aimed at an in-depth study of the Organization’s main activities in the fields of disarmament, non-proliferation, and arms control, and includes visits to international organizations and several countries in Europe, North Africa, South America, as well as South and East Asia.
Upon completing the training program, Gulden Kaskarbayeva presented research on strengthening the provisions of the Biological Weapons Convention. The UN Under-Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs Izumi Nakamitsu, awarded the Kazakhstani fellow with a diploma for the successful completion of the Program.
