On January 28, 2025 Chairman of the Board of the Foreign Policy Research Institute Bolat Nurgaliyev delivered a lecture at the online webinar «Dealing with the Taliban and Terrorism in Afghanistan: A Kazakh Perspective» jointly organized with the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the IRP and the Institute of Regional Studies under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan. Representatives of other analytical centers in Pakistan also participated in the event.
B.Nurgaliyev outlined assessments of internal situation, current state of economic and social spheres in Afghanistan, the foreign policy of Kabul, as well as the prospects for international recognition of the Islamic Emirate.
Special attention was paid to the role of Kazakhstan and other Central Asian republics in ensuring regional integration, joint response with Pakistan to the challenges and security risks in Central and South Asia emanating from the territory of Afghanistan in connection with the presence there of extremist and terrorist groups, as well as various aspects of interaction of the Transitional Government of the IEA with neighbors in the region.
