On September 9, 2026 the Foreign Policy Research Institute hosted a guest lecture by Professor Mara Morini of the University of Genoa for master's and doctoral students of the «International Relations» educational program at the Institute of Diplomacy of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The lecture topic was «Italy and Eurasia: Strategic Relations, Economic Cooperation and Geopolitical Challenges». Professor Mara Morini presented an Italian and European perspective on contemporary processes in Central Asia, paying special attention to development of political and economic interaction, energy cooperation, transport connectivity, the role of the Middle Corridor, and prospects for expanding ties between Central Asia and Europe amid transformation of the international system.
During ensuing discussion, master's and doctoral students discussed pressing issues of regional and international politics with Professor Morini, along with growing role of Central Asia in the system of international relations, prospects for Kazakhstan-Italian cooperation, and importance of expert dialogue between the countries.
The guest lecture was held with assistance of Deputy Chairman of the FPRI Board and Professor at the Institute of Diplomacy of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Manarbek Kabaziyev. The event served as a continuation of the FPRI’s work to develop academic diplomacy, expand international expert ties, and create opportunities for direct interaction between young Kazakhstani specialists and foreign scholars and researchers.
Such meetings contribute to deepening professional knowledge of master's and doctoral students, broadening their international horizons, and acquainting them with modern foreign scientific approaches to the study of international relations, foreign policy, and regional processes.
The FPRI intends to further develop format of guest lectures and expert meetings with foreign researchers, viewing academic diplomacy as an important direction for strengthening Kazakhstan's international scientific and expert cooperation.
