On May 23, 2023, the Chairman of the FPRI Board took part in an online format in the international symposium «Rebuilding Consensus on Multilateralism», organized by the Shanghai Academy of International Studies and Beijing Academy  of Contemporary China and World Studies. The symposium discussed the joint report prepared by these scientific centers «Rebuilding Consensus: Multilateralism at Stake, international System in Transition, and China’s solutions».

B. Nurgaliyev, along with experts from Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Thailand and China, assessed the phenomenon of multilateralism in the context of current trends in international relations, and also described main aspects of Kazakhstan's approaches to improving effectiveness of the UN as a universal global structure to ensure legal certainty and predictability in inter-state interaction, emphasizing absence of alternative to maintaining everybody’s adherence to principles of the UN Charter.
